Productivity Commission Submission

Living Care representing Churches of Christ nationally (except for WA) has provided a submission to the Productivity Commission of enquiry – Caring for Older Australians. The submission can be viewed here.

The Grand Plan

Living Care is a proud supporter of The Grand Plan, a community driven campaign aiming to highlight the importance of the Grand people in our lives and to raise awareness of the issues surrounding aged care.

The Grand Plan:

• Maps out the need for older people to have a greater choice in services and improved access to quality care wherever they live. This can’t be achieved without sustainable aged care services.
• The Grand Plan is about Grand people – older people who are important people in our lives for a whole lot of reasons, as mentors, relatives and heroes.
• The Grand Plan is about believing that we are all entitled to live with dignity and in comfort as we get older.
• The Grand Plan seeks a partnership with Australian governments to ensure this entitlement, and to address the needs of older people.

What can you do to help?

• Show your support for The Grand Plan by going to the website and sending a postcard to your someone grand.
• Show additional support by writing a letter to your local MP, (also available on the website) whilst sending a special card to your Grand person – which will be delivered for you.
• Pay tribute to your Grand person in words and pictures on the Grand Plan Facebook page.
• Sign up the the Grand Plan Twitter link and get your friends, family and politicians talking about the Grand Plan, about Grand people.
